Hello, Had the boat about a year or more and kinda forgot about the trailer hubs to be honest. I haven't had any problems but wanted to at least grease them lol I can't figure out how to do it. It doesn't look like your normal "bearing buddy" I have tried prying out the center plastic cap and it moves but can't get it to come off. Any ideas? Attachments:

Well it turns out after a bunch of searching around online. It looks like these are probably UFP vault hubs/torsion axles the words probably have just worn off. Which means there isn't really a grease fitting per se. Hopefully I didn't damage the seals trying to pull the left two out........
All though I can get the hub cover for fairly cheap. Debating on if I should just wait until something fails or replace the hubs now. The hubs and spindles are very rusted from saltwater.

Those look different than any I'm familiar with but if the cap is hard plastic and not rubber, I'd guess it's not designed to be removed. Most rubber caps that have a zerk fitting behind them have an indention around the outer edge so you can pop them out with something like a flat blade screwdriver. Have you checked the back side of the hub for an exposed grease fitting? Some have a grease fitting on the back side.

I had oil bath hubs on a car trailer. liked 'em but they had a sight glass to monitor the oil. Where are you at on the ten year warranty?

I like the idea of a oil bath bearings but if you develope a leak the oil is gone!! With a greaseable bearings even if you loose your bearing buddy you still have grease in there..

I can't believe trailer bearings are still using 1950's technology. I can run 200k on a truck without touching it, but before every major trip I jack up every wheel and make sure there is no play, if there is I tighten them up and grease them. Now I admit I trailer more than most, but I don't see how you don't have to tighten those up every once in a while.
