That one doesn't look like my Total Scan but they sell for about $300 so it's a steal at that price. I wonder if it's the same thing but an older version? How many pin connector is it?

Pretty sure it's the same but with the metal bracket rather than the plastic one you and I have.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. There's no ridge on top like on mine so I'm not sure it's the same thing or has the same 9 pin connector. What unit did you have connected to it Catcher? Looks like this one: link

Thanks guys. It is the same one, I changed the mounting bracket, it is a kit you can buy from Lowrance (or Amazon). The original mounting uses the notches and I couldnt get mine to hang level. This bracket is infinitely adjustable, and its fully stainless steel.

Oh, sorry, it came with an Elite 9 Ti. Kewl. Does the $75. include shipping? I'll take it and keep it as a spare. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I destroy mine one way or the other.

Tell me about the merits of the TotalScan® transducer. I know it's supposed to give you a great look at structure and what may be hiding there. I've read that it does side imaging as well. I fish is a lot of 2-4' water so the fishes are usually more next to me than below. How good is the side imaging? How can you tell where the fishes are?
Maybe this should be under Marine Electronics.

My impression / understanding (I'm no expert):
The side scan on the Elite Ti and Total scan transducer does the side scan in "Structure Scan". My experience, you can see a brush pile under a pier. Or, you could see stumps and timber out to the sides of your boat. I would drive along the ends of piers and look for the ones with brush piles under or in front of them. I didnt see fish on the side scan image. I believe the HD models have a side scan that can see fish, but, it takes an additional module and an additional transducer.

Did anyone ever buy this or is anyone selling it?

Did anyone ever buy this or is anyone selling it? Yep. I bought it. Installed it and another Elite 9 on my second boat and then sold the boat. Now I'll need another one if and when I find a replacement boat.

How's that metal bracket? I bought Catcher's SIMRAD with TotalScan transducer and the plastic bracket really makes the thing hang too low. Can't raise it any higher because the transom sticks out above it. If the metal bracket was a bit shorter it might solve my problem.

These pictures are all I have left of that transducer but maybe you can zoom in and tell if it will work better in your application. I remember thinking I didn't like the metal bracket because it didn't have as much adjustment range in it as the plastic mount I have on the Sea Pro does and if it hit something, it wouldn't pop up like the plastic mount. I do think it was quite a bit smaller and stronger than the plastic mount though.

Thanks. I think I'm going to have to get that bracket. It certainly appears to have a lower profile.

Hey guys, sorry for the late response. I have had both and the metal one is smaller on the boat.
