Tampa bay is on fire right now. Non stop with mackerel, which means kings are about. Cut up a couple and brought the some spinner sharks to the boat. Was hoping for a small blacktip... Tarpon will be soon to follow. I was solo so no pictures this time.

Good to hear someone is fishing! emthup The knee replacement has kept me off the water for almost 3 months now but I'm planning on going next week (just in time for the cobia run). If there's an upside to knee surgery it's given me time to detail the boat and do a bunch of little things I've wanted to do for a long time..

Took the Marsh Assault Vehicle out last weekend. First Mate and I caught about 40 reds (7 keepers), 8 bass and a trout. That’s how screwed up the waters are now. The trout are AWOL and bass are eating shrimps.

40 reds in one trip! Wow. I think most I've ever caught was 7 or 8 and that was during a feeding frenzy. I've gotta drag the boat over there some day.

I've been catching crappie and stripers on local waters. Nothing worth shrinking photos small enough to post on here though.

I've gotta drag the boat over there some day. Come on over. You don’t need to drag a boat. I’ll take you out. You’d run aground in 5 minutes if you went out in your boat.

I caught about a dozen yesterday on Lake Norman here in NC. Mixed bag of white pearch, largemouth and channel cats. Had my hook straitened out twice but got this one to the boat.

Not fishing till april 12 when I get to destin. The lakes around the Knoxville area even with all the rain in Jan Feb are getting besieged with tournaments. The bass master classic was here 3 weeks ago and fired up the already busy spring season here. been busy, looking forward to some boat and beach fishing. If the pompano run is anything like last year oh boy. Glad to hear the knee is ready for action Jaun, it must have been toast, that was one ugly pic right after your surgery. Attachments:

Thanks trout. I haven't heard any pomp reports but the cobia should be showing up if you're into those.. Your gonna be a couple months early for snapper season but they're easy to catch if you can't find the pompano and want something to do. Post a report when you get to Destin. I might run over there if they're biting. I had planned to fish this week but had a hiccup. One of my onboard chargers was telling me the start battery was shorted... so I bought and installed a new battery and still had the red light on the charger. Turns out the charger lied and it was the charger that was bad. New charger arrived too late today to install and thunder boomers tonight and tomorrow. They're predicting more rain than we've had in 3 months so now it's gonna be next week at the earliest before I get the boat wet.

Was on Tampa Bay today. Wind was howling but we found macs, ladies, grouper, specs, and my personal smallest snook to date. Buddy has been slaying the bass on Dale Hollow Tenn. . Looking forward to spending some time fishing up in Tenn. come May.

Always on the lookout for cobia around destin. They have been seeing a few, and the first ones were entered in the many cobia tourneys earlier this week. Plenty of other targets also, trigger fish and vermillion snapper are always high on my list.

I fish Tampa bay on my days off, just went offshore for the first time on Saturday, wish I could have found the kings at the skyway, I looked but only found threadfins, a guy with a hung cast net, and a guy needing help unhooking a 200lb Goliath.

I'm STILL not fishing! 013 Seems the fishing gods don't want me to. First it was a 3 month wait due to knee surgery and then when I think that's healed enough to go fishing, my battery charger takes a dump, so after replacing that and getting prepared to go again, I start to hook up the truck and a break failure idiot light comes on. My mechanic tells me it's some sort of hydraulic pump failure and only the dealer can get the replacement part ($600) and it's in Atlanta! Maybe next week if the weather allows and nothing else goes wrong!

Most unfortunate. I drive a 20-year old Ford and I don't have problems like that. I think it's because it's not smart enough to know I'm an idiot and tell me about it. It could be because it doesn't have stupid hydraulic pumps too.

Got it back but too late to fish tomorrow. $932. for the pump and two brake pads but everything works as it should again and paying to fix a 10 year old truck is cheaper than making payments on a new one so I'm keeping her.
