changed prop and wot is now right at 6000, should be 5500, My question is now top speed at 5500 is 24 mph, before was about 28-30 at 5000 rpm. Will fuel usage be more or less now? Asking this because fuel gauge not working. I realize I need to go up one pitch, but can't afford another prop right now.

In general, more RPMs equates to more fuel burn.
If you have a dicey fuel gauge and you're concerned about consumption, you may wish to see the performance stats for your motor. I think you'll find that it burns the fewest gallons per hour (GPH)and delivers the best miles per gallon(MPG)while operating in the 3,300-3,500 RPM range.

If max rpm is 5500, it must be a 2 stroke. If you keep the max at 5500, you'll probably get a little better mileage since the motor isn't working as hard to reach 5500 as it was when it was over propped.
