Hello, What props/pitch are you all running on your SV boats? Currently have a well-used “17-M” prop on a recently purchased 2005 SV1900/F150 with tunnel, tabs, and jack plate. Prop measures about 15” diameter, a little dinged, and looks to be repaired/reworked at some point so the 17 pitch/cup is suspect. Performs ok - around 45 mph turning a hair under 6000 but has pretty bad shift clunk and idle chatter which seems common for large diameter props on the F150. Would like to get a replacement like the Powertech REL3 which seems a good match for the F150 but curious what pitch to start with to keep rpms where they are. Any suggestions? Thanks! Matt

If I remember correctly, I think I ran a 13" pitch on my Yammie F150 to get the right rpms but that's on a SV2100 without a jack plate. If you're turning a hair under 6,000, it don't get much better than that so I'd stick with a 17". The shift clunk and idle chatter sounds like the prop hub. That can be replaced.

Thanks Juan I agree I’d like to keep RPMs as is. Just think this prop is a bit too big in diameter/weight for the 150 and would like the replacement to be a little better matched with a hub that can tame the chatter.

I think you'll need a saltwater series 2 prop with those cushion style hubs to get rid of the chatter, see what you can find in a 14" diameter.

Definitely going with something that has the absorbing hub. After talking with Powertech I'm going to give a 14.25x17 with the cushion hub a try to start and go from there. Should be close.

Did you pull the trigger on that prop? What were your results?

I did - been out of town a while but had a chance to test before I left. Went with the Powertech REL3 in 14.25x18 since I was going down an inch in diameter. Shifts WAY smoother and no more chatter at idle. Little choppy and windy but could get about the same top speed at 5700 RPM. Prop behaves all-around better than the heavy old one so I'm happy.
