I got a gallon of this from my buddy that details boats. $30 on Amazon. Used it on my dual axle. Worked well with a little learning curve. Did brighten up the trailer maybe 50% with two applications using about 1/2 gallon. Did not discolor stainless fasteners , but where I rushed and applied too much before brushing in there was some running causing streaking. Second application cleared up most of the streaking. Would recommend this product to those anal maintaince fiends and those prepping to sell. I did coat trailer with WD40 afterwards to make it really pop for pictures and hopefully add some sealing to the metal.

I guess I fall into the "anal" category since I used the same stuff a while back to clean my trailer. Had the same issue with streaking but probably because I put too much of it on the trailer at one time and it ran. Another coat of cleaner and a wire brush and steel wool took out the streaks. I didn't think about using WD-40 afterward. I bet it looks good but probably wash off after a few dunks anyway.

Was a used trailer(the one I did a rehab write up on), but on my new continental I too fall in the anal group. The WD40 is for the pictures and I am not splashing the boat until I have a cash in hand buyer. I have used a product called Anchor Wax on a couple " patina " cars where we wanted to maintain the rusty look without it progressing any further(actual rust not painted to look). It was used in WWII on jeeps ect. from factory for shipping . New parts that feel slightly greasy , chances are they have something similar on it. Super thick to point we put it in a high pressure low volume sprayer to get a application pattern. Holds up to light detergent. Works great on leaf springs and axle hubs with reapplication maybe a couple times a season (brush on). I had to special order a gallon from England . Would not want to use it on working surfaces as waxy/oily feel.
