I have a yamaha 2004 2 stroke 60hp TLRC. The top carb assembly part number 6H2-14301-30-00 is cracked on the shaft where the main jet sits. I need a new assembly. Yamaha no longer makes the part. They say find someone that has it sitting on a shelf (impossible) or buy salvage. I was told by two marine mechanics I could substitute part number 6H2-14301-0A-00. This OA assembly is from the previous model year and the only apparent difference is an adjustable pilot on the OA versus a fixed one on the 30. This was done due to EPA requirements. Any one ever try this substitution or know anything about this? I can still buy the OA new which is what I would prefer or go with a salvage of the assemble actually made for the motor. Any input appreciated. Yamaha does not have a substitute assembly when I told them what I wrote above they said its up to my mechanic.
