Afternoon all,
Towed my boat down to Santee last friday to try some striper fishing. River was up, muddy, and full of trash. Not a good trip.
However, about 3 hours into fishing, I noticed the voltage on my Lowrance Head Unit said just over 8 volts. I did have a bait well pump running, but, it has never done this before. I have fished all day and never dropped below 10. Anyhow, I cranked up the motor and the voltage jumped back to 13. I let it run for 10 minutes or so then cut it off. A little time later, I noticed my Lowrance and my Simrad were both off, apparently self shut down on low voltage. I immediately crunk up the motor and let it run for a while, then we headed for the ramp. At the ramp, I powered the units back up and they said good voltage.
I brought her home and charged everything up then took her to the lake on saturday and could not replicate the problem.
Im stumped.
Two batteries, house and cranking, Blue Sea Systems battery switch, on - off - battery combine. Blue Sea Systems ACR (Auto Charging Relay). All Factory installed.
My initial research found lots of issues with this battery switch. Blue Sea has apparently re done it and are offering replacements. But, those guys described a catastrophic loss of all power failure and the switch crumbled to pieces.
Any ideas?

How old is your house battery?

I guess that's not the problem then. Maybe a loose connection at the battery?
