I purchased my dual axle trailer knowing the axles would need to be replaced. Had time and $ to do one this week. One chance to prep a axle is before it is installed. Poured a quart of anchor wax ‘ (will try open gear oil next time) in drip hole. And with a buddies help sloshed it hub to hub on all four sides. Wiped the outside down with thinner . Then three Rattle cans of cold galvanized over everything. Gave it two days to dry and then installed.

Forgot : cut a plastic gasket out of milk jug to separate the galvanized axle from the aluminum frame and replace the nylock nuts on the stainless bolts.

Looks good and should last a long time. Torsion axles won't rust as fast as springs but they DO rust. Believe me, I know!
