I fished the river again today and caught 13 hybrids before they quit at 10 a.m. I put 6 in the livewell but then decided I didn't want to clean fish so released them all. The Surf: The Turf: Dumb doe ran out in front of the truck on the way to the ramp.. Luckily it was a small one so no damage to the truck other than a grill full of hair.

Most unfortunate. Did you load her up and drag her back to your cave?

Most unfortunate. Did you load her up and drag her back to your cave? With the shortage of chicken and hamburger in the stores lately, I thought about it but the vultures had already found her and I only fished for 3 hours. They must have been hungry. After taking a closer look at the truck, she did put a slight dent in the bumper. Could have been worse.

Butchered a couple road kills while in the U.P.. Fair amount of waste, but the choice cuts are pretty well protected . You have cattle bars Juan? Deer have messed up two cars and a motorcycle on me, you got off ez.

You have cattle bars Juan? Deer have messed up two cars and a motorcycle on me, you got off ez. I did on my last truck but not on this one and yes, I did get lucky. I've hit deer three times now and got lucky twice with the two I hit head on. The one that hit the front fender, tore up the whole side of that truck. I can't imagine hitting one on a motorcycle.

I misread. Didn’t realize she perished before you launched. Let buzzards have a free lunch, of course.

Old adage speed kills . Low speed on bike twisty road with leafs so already going slow. Wiped out a 73 Nova I had built up . 70+ on a straight two lane at night. I put cattle bars on my trucks and vans(all I drive now). Ever try the deer whistles? I run with my windows down , but on the hotest days and the high pitch drove me nutz. Need to revist as my hearing may have deteriorated enough that it may not be a issue anymore.

Do the deer whistles really work? I've read that those are a scam so never tried em.

Dunno, my sister in OH hit 2 in the course of 18 months. After these near-death experiences, she put whistles on her cars. Hasn’t hit one since , nor 2 kids or husband, in last 18 years. I’m thinking that may not be a coincidence.
Have you seen Yankee deers? They are huge!

One thing you sure as heck don't want to hit is a wild or feral hog, they'll tear up major chunks of a vehicle. Buddy of mine hit a 2-300 pounder one night and it came close to totalling his F-150.
