Has anyone ever had their trolling motor prop get out of balance? The trolling motor on my little skiff is vibrating and making a squeaking sound now and then and it sounds like it's coming from the foot. I changed the seals and bearings in the foot not long ago so I hope it's the bearings and I can take the prop off and it runs fine and without the noise or vibration. When I took the prop off, I found the prop nut was loose so thought that might have been the problem but it wasn't. Never heard of it happening but I was wondering if the prop could have warped or somehow gotten out of balance?

Mine has a few nicks and dents in the plastic. It vibrates a little. Very annoying. Probably scares fish away. Got to blame something for that.
I bought a new one to see if that is the cause. If it is, I will use it and file the burrs out of the old one to see if it can be salvaged.

I guess I'll spend the $35 on a new one too and keep my fingers crossed that's the problem. This one is old and faded but there aren't any visible dents or large chips. I was going to take the prop off the Ulterra and try it on this one but the cotter pin is a different size.

I put a weedless on the Ranger. Hit something and had to replace, went back to a stock one .

It had a couple of very tiny chips in the blades so I used a file to smooth out the chips and put it back on. It's not making any noise now but I can't see how that fixed anything. I'm gonna try it in the water again b4 I waste money on a new prop.
