So with the trolling motor plug DOA , went out to drift some grass flats for trout... Went to one of my favorite shoals with a grass flat in 4-6' depth. It boarders a deep 10-15' acre size depression. Took a break to eat a sandwich and drifted to the edge of the deep. For kicks tied on a slow sinker hard in mullet. Second cast hooked a 3' juve.. Got two good runs and a jump where it shook the lure. Not sure I pointed to the fish at the jump, was not expecting a tarpon. Thought I had a big sailcat on til the jump. What I get for pinching the barbs on the trebles. But great fun on a light/fast rod with 10lb braid.
