Tomorrow. June 11th. I want to go but won't get within 50 miles of saltwater this weekend. Way too crowded! Catch em up if you dare. btw: This weekend is also license free for freshwater fishing in Florida.

I'll be getting after them in Simplemanland starting Sunday. It looks like good weather for most of the week.

Come up north. Walleyes are plentiful.

That's a fine box of fish.

That IS a fine mess of fish! Never caught a walleye. How far north of the Florida line would I have to go to find one?

But they are one of the finest eating fish you can catch. I have a friend that goes up there every year just to catch walleyes.

I took advantage of the "no freshwater license required" weekend today and fished Lake Seminole. I planned to fish a lake off the river where I used to slay the large mouth bass. I hadn't been there since hurricane Michael and couldn't get to the lake because of all the trees laying across the creek running to it. So I fished a few new spots and caught only two small bass. It was still fun and better than sitting at home. Reminded me why I don't fish on weekends. There were boats everywhere!

Went out of Panacea Friday but the Simrad was acting weird so we stayed close. Water was smooth to 1’ slight breeze up until 3. We mainly just rode around checking out some public numbers (usually go out of Lanark) and trying to figure out the trolling motor anchor lock. I can build a house but have trouble with the electronic shit. Caught some huge key west grunts and huge remoras.

There have been 3 record walleye hatches in the last 5 years on Lake Erie. Fish are everywhere. The only problem is that there are now so many walleyes it has screwed up the perch fishing. I guess there are worse problems to have though. And a few weekends ago there were more boats out in the western basin than I have ever seen before. It was crazy....
Crabs is correct. Now that the water is warming up they will move into deeper water. I will likely be fishing very close to the Canadian line that runs through the middle of the lake.
