Considering a used 2005 4 stroke Suzuki 200 with 1750 hours. Seller claims that he recently serviced with all fluids changes and all anodes (internal and external) replaced. New hydraulic steering ram and prop shaft. Stainless steel 3-blade prop. What are the long term expectations of a motor with this many hours even if meticulously maintained?

Where are you? I think I read an ad describing a motor of the same vintage attached to a 2100 that seemed to be overpriced.
That's a lot of hours. It could go for another 1,000 or it could go for 4, then you're looking at a rebuild. I'd be curious to know why the seller did all that maintenance (prop shafts aren't inexpensive to change) and now wants to sell it. Unless it is attached to an entire boat he is trying to get rid of and his pain is reflected in the asking price.
I'd make sure the price reflects the inherent risk of a motor of that age. Look up the book value and have your own mechanic give it an assessment.

I agree with crabs. 1700 hours is a lot especially if they were saltwater hours. The older Suzukis had some internal corrosion issues. Just me but without a compression check and scope, I'd pass on any outboard with those hours.

I am in Louisiana. The ad is a bit strange as he is also selling "for an extra $7,000 his pickup truck. He then lists it for $20K. Its uncertain if the $20K is with the pick up or not. If not $13K for a sv2100 is worth a look.

Observations: the console storage compartment has been removed and replaced with starboard. It needs new console rod holders and I'd want to add trim tabs. The electronis are worth about $500, and the Ulterra trolling motor runs about $2k. The tandem axle trailer is a plus. The cushions look to be there and in good shape. The tach looks to be discolored and it looks like the spare tire is a golf cart tire. In today's market, he'll probably get his asking price but the motor hours would concern me. I'd offer $15k for the boat the way it sits.

I think you all may be over valuing Seapro's.

I think you all may be over valuing Seapro's. This boat for $20K is easily way over valued. In general, I'm seeing these models selling at around $15K. Funny thing is that this is what they sold for 5+ years ago and they still are holding their value very well so far.

I knew I saw that ad. I read it like he wants $20K for the boat + $7K for the truck, but this is Louisiana and the English language is regularly twisted and contorted into unrecognizability around here. At $13K for the boat and trailer, it's worth a phone call. neworleans.craigslist.org/boa/d/luling-2005-sea-pro-sv2100cc-with-200/7139526939.htmlYep that's the one. I did email the guy and you're right, he's asking $20K for boat and $7K for the pickup. He is the 3rd owner and has only owned the boat for about 3-4 years and only has his maintenance records and none from before that. I think this will be a hard pass without knowing the motor history. Search continues...

I think you all may be over valuing Seapro's. Not really, and it's not just Sea Pros. The boat market, (both new and used) is way up due to the economy and social distancing. Used boats are in high demand. It's a seller's market. Sea Pros have a great reputation and retain value better than most so sellers can ask and get most if not all of what they have invested in one. So what you consider over valued, someone else will consider a bargain. Thst said, that NADA lists that boat at $13,500 without accessories. Add the trolling motor and accessories and it's probably worth $15k. I still wouldn't buy a used motor with 1700 hours but that's just me.
