I recently own a 2018 228 with a suzuki df200a...
I tested her for first time and I got a top speed of 42mph with 2 people riding. Motor has a jack plate and also trim tabs. I think the jack plate was set right under 2.0, like around 1.7 if that's even a number. I didn't use the tabs on any level. Can a Jack plate or tabs increase the speed? I was warned about jack plate to know how much u can set it to to avoid problems, that's why I had is set to that figure. Can someone shed light on this matter. What settings I can use and why?
According to suzuki marine tests. This exact boat and motor should get closer to 48mph top speed...

What RPM are you getting at WOT and are you trimming the motor up enough? (sorry gotta ask). A few things can effect top speed, engine height, prop etc. Take a look at your anti ventilation plate while up on plane at WOT, can you see it?

Same boat and motor , 43.5 is as fast as she goes. I think the factory specs are for boats without t-top?

Yes I was trimmed. I didn't notice rpms. I just don't understand what's jack plates purpose is. Trim tabs I sorta understand.
Sorry I have to ask but what is ventilation plate?

Anti Ventilation plate is on the lower unit sometimes referred to as a cavitation plate, jack plate a good for running and operating in shallow water, allows you to raise the motor to get into those shallow fishing spots.
