Went to West Point Lake and caught a dozen crappie, 3 blue catfish, 5 or so spotted bass, and 1 hybrid bass. Was surprised that the water temp was already 64. Crappie were on the bank and it's really about 1.5 weeks earlier than normal from my experience. I did have my first impact. I hit a standing pine as I was coming off plane and it rocked the boat pretty hard. I ran the bilge a few times to make sure I wasn't taking on water and then went back to fishing. I inspected the hull and found zero damage when I got it on the trailer. Glad I have a sturdy hull!

Great report! Good you didn't have any damage! Reminded me of the time I hit a channel buoy. I too was grateful these boats are so sturdy. I've always wanted to fish West Point but for some reason I keep going back to Eufaula. You'll have to give me some pointers if my knee ever heals and I get a chance to go again.

Juan, they are very similar lakes except one has alligators and the other doesn't.
