I have a 2005 Sea Pro 180CC with a 90 HP Yamaha 2-Stroke engine. The battery was drained down to next to nothing so I bought a new battery. The issue is now that the engine will not start...when I turn the key I get absolutely nothing, even the motor tilt doesn't work. There is current to the console because I get lights and gauges. Does anyone have any basic tip or recommendation on things to check before I have to take this to a marine shop?

Power to the console lights and gauges doesn't mean you'll have power to the engine. Separate power wires. First thing I'd check is the key switch harness connector. It connects the wiring harness from the motor to the key switch and you should be able to see it from under the console. If it's still connected, I'd unplug it and spray the connection with a corrosion cleaner like WD40. While you have it disconnected, if you have a multimeter, you can check to see if you're getting voltage to the key. btw: Welcome to the forum.

That plus clean battery connections.
