I don't often go offshore but the seas were calm so did yesterday. First drop I hooked up with something I fought for almost an hour. Wore me out and I had to put the rod in a rod holder for most of the fight. Wanted to get a picture but he broke the 50# line before I ever saw him. I suspect it was either a bull shark or jewfish but I'll never know. Did catch a huge Spanish mack and a bunch of triggerfish and grunts before going back to inshore trout fishing.

I'd gain a little line on him now and then but I followed him around half the ocean with the trolling motor on high to do it.

I'm headed to Simpleman land next week. Looks like 3-4' until Monday. This snapper season only Friday through Monday sucks if you don't live there.
