My first impeller change resulted in no pee. I had a similar problem lining up the water tube with the grommet. It gets easier, but there is so much time between changes, you forget some of what you learned.

You are exactly right freezer. I pulled & reinstalled my lower twice to get it right. First time the driveshaft slid right into its sleeve, the 2nd time it took close to 30 min. trying to get it lined up. Pretty tough job when you are by yourself.

There's nothing quite like the frustration of holding a gearcase in one hand and trying to line things up with the other .

UPDATE: I finally got work caught up enough to get out on the water and the boat ran fine as wine. I tooled around on the water for about 4 hours with no problems, other than the 35 degree air temp. I did not end up putting in a temp. guage, only a temp sounder. There is not much room on the dash to add another guage, but might be able to go with a dual guage? While inside the console I gathered all the wires and cleaned up the "birds nest" a bit. Also identified wires from the removed oil injection, wash down pump that's not there, and the wire needed for the temp guage. There is also another "hot" wire that was added by a previous owner. I just cap and taped it off for future use, who knows?
Thanks to everyone for your input and support, it was and is greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to all.

Nothing more satisfying to be able to fix your boat on your own. This forum has a lot of knowledge and its a great resource!!
