New to forum. Proud owner(last 14 years) of 2006 220 CC with 2005 Yamamerc 4 stroke with almost 1600 hours. Engine serviced every year, runs great but thinking about repowering to get ready for the “next 15 years”. Have really enjoyed boat, set up well for my needs. Any thoughts on possible downside of repowering an older Sea Pro 220? Does anyone know what the gas tank is made of? Appreciate any feedback.

Welcome aboard. I just repowered my 2007 220CC last year with a Suzuki 250 and can't see any down side considering the price of a replacement boat these days. The gas tank is made of aluminum and hold 105 gallons, a new one installed will run you about $5k.

Much appreciated! I’m leaning towards the zuke 250 as well. Just have heard some friends with other older boat brands(contenders) that have had to replace gas tanks. Didn’t know of any history with Sea Pro boats having same issue. Thanks again!

I haven't heard of a lot of guys having to replace tanks but mine failed about two years ago.

What max speed speed do you get with the 250?

What max speed speed do you get with the 250? Best I've seen so far is 49mph.
