So what do you use for a landing net? I'm looking at several options.

I’ve got the kind with rubber netting. It’s a little heavy and that makes it a little slow, but nothing gets caught up in it and it’s pretty tough.

Like crabs, I too use rubber mesh nets. As he said, lures and such don't get caught in the mesh like they do with other types of mesh and the rubber mesh doesn't remove fish slime so your fish can be released without harm. I keep a Frabil rubber mesh with a 4' handle on the Sea Pro and a short handle net on the flats boat.

I've got a collapsible Frabil with rubber netting from Wally world. It was cheap, fits in the bow storage box, and I was able to get this 10+ lb catfish in the boat with it. Plus, I don't miss trying to get hooks out of nylon netting at all.

Mine had many holes in it from various landings. Most recently a 23# drum. I was able to get new rubber netting and replace it for $22.
