Hey guys! Just picked up this 2004 as my 2nd boat. TBH I'm not even sure the exact model as the seller called it a 20.
Title states 19.5'...looks like SV1900, but could be a different model...not very familiar with the models. Any help would be appreciated.
Secondly I want to add trim tabs, what do you guys recommend? I'll probably do Lenco electrics as they're simple, but I noticed there is a normal 12x9 and then there is an edge mount tab kit. Any thoughts on this...?
Next...anything I should know in particular about this model? Any known issues to address? Has a Yamaha 115 4s with 650hr and I just did a full service as standard procedure so motor is good to go.
I'll post little upgrades as they come along!
Thanks in advance. Dan

Welcome to the forum danman. You're right, that's an SV1900cc. The 19.5 ft is a bit confusing. I guess they just rounded down when they named the boats because my 04 SV2100cc is actually 21.8 ft and it's called a 21. As for tabs, I'm a big fan of the Lenco edge mounts but either style will make a huge difference in performance. The edge mounts just look better imo and Lenco claims they are stronger than the standard tabs. I did the install over 12 years ago and still think they are the best addition I've made. Oh yeah, the one biggest complaint about these boats is the wiring. It's not known to be the best from the factory, and many have had to replace some wiring or rewire all of it. If you have problems with your wiring, there's a wiring diagram posted in the forum. Good luck and congrats on the 1900.

have a 2006 1900 with merc 115. Great boat, hulls are solid and can realy handle rough water for their size. i have not wasted money on tabs for such a short boat. i have been told that tabs on that boat will only make it feel a foot longer but won't have the normal effect tabs give. i use my trim and dont need tabs. wasted money and another item to fail imo.

Trout is entitled to his opinion but I respectfully disagree. Trim tabs would be one of the best investments you could add to that hull or any other. Not only do I have them on my 2100, but also on my 16 ft Scout. They make a huge difference with performance and boat control. If you want the best performance and control of your boat, I can guarantee they aren't a waste of money.

It's all good guys, this is my 5th boat...trim tabs might not be necessary but they help tremendously and I'll put them on at some point. I just wasn't sure if the edge mounts will work on this hull or go with the standard. Doesn't appear to be too much room on the back.
I notice the rod holders on the sides of the console are cracked and they just drain in with no hoses. What have you guys done in the past? Run fittings to have them drain on to the deck or do you get the rod holders with caps and keep them covered when not in use?
I also noticed 2 "holes" on towards the back of the boat. They look like they might be for a back rest...does this sound right? Anybody have a link to a long backrest to purchase for rear seating? This would be nice for the kids.

trim tabs might not be necessary but they help tremendously Exactly and anyone who doesn't believe that, has never had trim tabs. Hell, an outboard isn't necessary either. Be careful when buying replacement console rod holders. There are a lot available but the screw pattern doesn't match on most. These are the same screw pattern: thmarinesupplies.com/products/rod-holder-flush-mount-angled-topI bought the black ones: They have a drain hole in the bottom where you connect a short drain hose that drains into the bilge. The edge mount trim tabs are the same size as the standards.. the only difference is the edge which is supposed to make them stronger. The two holes on your rear deck are either for a back rest or pedestal seats. A picture would confirm but there is a back rest available... Maybe someone can tell you where to look for one. I just don't know where you would find one and you may have to build it yourself.
