I put a new 1100 GPH pump on my livewell set up. Dual livewells, one pump. There is a shutoff inside each livewell on the end of the fill valve which you can screw like a faucet handle to open or close that valve, which makes the livewells work independently of each other. I am unable to get any water to either of the wells. I blew air from the pump to the livewells with no problem, and blew air back from each livewell to the pump with no problem. Now I'm thinking that this new pump is bad or not strong enough to lift the water 18' that is needed to reach the front well. With the front well closed, the rear well will not take on any water either. There is a "T" connector that I haven't got to yet that splits the supply line. That is all that is in the path of the water. Water right out of the pump with no hose connected is fairly strong also. ?

So the pump is pumping a strong stream until you connect the hose?

That is correct Juan. I put a piece of clear hose off of the pump discharge so I can see water being pushed into the livewell lines. Today, I am going to connect a garden hose to the livewell piping and see if I can get any water that way. If I do then I'm leaning toward a bad pump.

I'm guessing the same as you. Sounds to me like the impeller is slipping when it gets a load on it. You might try putting your hand in the discharge when it's pumping to see if you can stop the flow at the pump. If you can, the problem is the pump.

Bad pump, right out of the box. I put the old 800 GPH back on and works like it should. I guess if it ain't broke then don't fix it...

I have the same problem, but haven't even started to fix it. The forward livewell fills, but the aft doesn't. Where is the pump located? 2005 SeaPro 1900

The one with the metal mesh screen on it that keeps you from sucking seaweed into it.
