The two fishboxes on my 2003 22’ WA allow water in and every time I lift the lid any water on the lid runs into the box. Since I use them mostly for dry storage I’d like to prevent water from entering. Is water entering the box just the nature of the beast? I’ve been thinking of running some kind of seal around the inside edge. Has anyone done something to keep the fishboxes dry? Attachments:

Are you sure the water is entering through the cover? That looks like a trough that would catch any water and direct it to the front face of the box. Could the water be entering through the drain line?

The water enters from rain and spray. What I would expect would happen is any water that runs down the sides of the cover and hits the trough would be directed to the front edge of the box where it should just run out. Somehow it is entering the box.
The problem with opening the lid and having any water on the lid run into the box is capillary action where the water runs around to the back bottom edge of the lid, which overhangs the box, and drips inside. unavoidable I guess.

I now understand. I'm sure that www.mcmaster.com/ would have some sort of a seal that would fit in the lid.

I tried adding weatherstripping not to keep water out, but to keep the kids from slamming the lids. It was pretty short lived, but if you don't mind re-doing it every other year, it might work.
