Hello all,
So after nearly sinking my boat offshore one day and lots of trial and error I finally found that the hose connecting the deck drain the the scuppers is leaking A LOT! As luck would have it the leaky one is the Port side so it's completely buried under the livewell, I can't even begin to reach it.
Has anyone replaced this hose? If so how did you get to it? Almost seems like you have to cut a hole or two somewhere, regardless it needs to be replaced so if anyone can make suggestions to get me started before I start cutting out a live-well it would help immensely.
Thanks

I haven't had that issue but I wonder if you could slip line a slightly smaller diameter hose inside the existing hose and seal it on both ends?

Would the new hose be rigid enough to push it through the deck hole and underneath the livewell on into the bilge area? Just a shower thought.

Didn't this happen to somebody and he/she ended up cutting out a large portion of his/her splashwell and replacing it with a huge rectangular deck plate? Was either a scupper hose or a bilge pump/switch or something requiring impossible access.
Then somebody said the splashwell is too load-bearing for that so maybe that's not a good idea. Is that true? Sure makes an elegant solution flaccid.

Can you get to the transom thru hull at all ?, I'd cut a hole near the deck drain to get to that one and cover the hole with a speaker.

Just to add details 1. I do not think I can get to the transom side of it at all, I mean unless my arms were 20" longer and a bit thinner. 2. I guess I can take off the inside part and see what's happening there, I will not be able to get to the boat until Monday. 3. Sleaving it might work but just not confident in that solution, considering I am looking to sell the boat I think I would want it fixed right for the new owner.
I currently have a big black rubber bung wedged into the scupper at the transom, essentially a ticking time bomb.

I had this problem had to replace both scupper deck drains because they were cracked near the lip of the fitting and leaking into bilge when water backflowed into cockpit. The starboard side is relatively accessible but the port side is not accessible at all as you found out. I put a rectangular access panel into the bottom of the port side compartment. Not only did it make the scupper drain and hose accessible but it allowed me to unkink the fuel hose so that I can actually fuel at a normal rate now.
