Just heard the news that Sea-Pro is being shut down by Brunswick. That bites as I think these are well built boats.

Just heard the news that Sea-Pro is being shut down by Brunswick. That bites as I think these are well built boats. Welcome aboard zoom50! I posted a press release that I found online. Its a shame that the the mortgage crash and $4 fuel are doing this to manufacturers. Brunswick had just purchased Sea Pro a couple of years ago. I would hate to take a 50 million dollar hit. The hull molds are supposed to go to Trophy from what I hear. Guess our Brunswick built Sea Pros will become collectors items in about 30 years. ;D

Sad but true state of affairs in the boating industry, I am afraid we will see more fall before it is over.
Just my opinion but there are way too many boat companies and realistically how many different ways can you build a boat

Oh no! Say it ain't so! I'm shocked. I could see dropping the Sea Boss or the Laguna (don't know anything about the Palmetto), but the Sea Pro is a shocker. What about parts, if needed, such as windshields, etc.? I have an '07 SV2100 with 175 Verado. Just had a T-top custom built and I planned on keeping this boat for a long time.

Quote "Rumor has it that the molds will be transfered to Brunswick's Trophy Boat division."
You are correct sir!
What hurt Sea-Pro sales after Brunswick bought them out was putting Merc's on the back of them.................
They sold like hot cakes here in Charleston,SC with Yamahas on them. The local sea-pro dealer got rid of them when they couldnt get them with Yamaha's on'em.
