I recently bought a Yamaha F150 and I'm concerned about ethanol.
Anyone use fuel stabilizers like STA-BIL?

Look in the area to see if someone has fuel without ethanol. It may ease your mind about the fake fuel. The dealers are out there but are hard to find. I have a yamaha 115 and do use sta-bil, don't know if it helps or not but not had any trouble so far that I didn't cause myself. Just remember to run it every 28 days or drain the carbs for over the winter. <`)>((((< ED

I don't think the F150 has carbs, but I can tell you from experience that ethanol will certainly foul up the injectors.... I don't use ethanol gas any more.... Like ejstenger said, ethanol free gas is out there, it might cost ten cents a gallon more than ethanol, but it's worth every penny and the extra trouble looking for it... and I do keep a bottle of marine Sta-bil close by in case of emergencies.

In Delaware ethanol fuel is all you can find. I use Stabil Marine every time I add fuel and have never had ethanol related fuel problems.

I use Stabil Marine every time I add fuel and have never had ethanol related fuel problems. I didn't either until I reached about 300 hours...when the injectors broke down.

Yep, Yamaha 10 micron filter...and I change it every 6 months if it needs it or not.. never found any water in it either. The motor is designed to run on up to 15% ethanol (as per the owner's manual) so I used the ethanol fuel for a long time without any issues...300 hours... I'll still use it but only if I can't find ethanol free gas but this time I'll use marine stabil.. I don't know if StaBil actually works or not but it certainly can't hurt and I don't want to pay for another injector fix.

I use Seafoam and no-ethenol gas eveytime I fill-up, 525 hrs no problem. Make sure you have a gas-water separator filter. That works for me.
