Been looking at several Sea Pro Bay boats. From a 2001 V2300 to a 2003 SV2001. Most have T-tops and cooler seats. Engines vary from 200 to 115.
Any advice on what to offer?
2001-V2300- Z200 Yam, troll mtr, no electronics
2003-SV2100-115 4-stroke Yam, troll motr, w all electronics
Both are on tandem axle trailers.
Thanks.

bmills7, I think that you would find that the 115 is a bit underpowered for that boat. I have a '99 190DC w/ 115 and if I had it to do over I would put a 150 on it and that is what will happen if my 115 goes kaput. I would go with the higher H.P. as it will get you out of trouble a whole lot quicker if needed. I have no idea what they are worth but the local bank or Credit union have blue books. ED

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that the 115 would be a little weak. I have looked at a few others with anything from a 150 to a 225. Do you think a 200 or 225 would be too much?
thanks. I hope to have one with a big red bow on it soon!

bmills7, Look at the sticker to see what H.P. is max. and go with the one that is closest. I would not buy one with H.P. above the recommended high. It could cause problems in the future. I wish you a big red bow in the near future. ED

I think Ed is right on with his advice. You can not have enough HP but you can never have too much! I had a 2005 SV2100CC with a 225 four stroke on it and I cannot imagine that same boat with a 115 on it. It has to be a pig. That said, I am a reformed bass fisherman and am unhappy if anything more than the back end is in the water!
