I have been unable to find an appropriate size anchor (6-9 lb.) danforth type, that will fit in my anchor box. The length of the shank is too long on most, and when I find one that is the right length, the width is too short and it won't hang on the preformed grooves at the top of the box.
thanks,

I bit the bullet and went out and bought a navy anchor that is much better holding the boat in position. The danforth just didn't want to dig in for some reason. <`)>((((< ED

Worked like a charm. I completed my conversion yesterday. The only change I have is that the hole is 3.5" to fit the pipe instead of 3.25". Thanks for the great idea.

I had the same problem with my 180cc, the only anchors that would fit it was the same economy type anchors that would never hold well. I bought a seaclaw anchor (they have a website) and it fits my anchor box and holds well, its like a cross between a danforth and navy anchor
