my 01 sv2100cc came with a 175 johnson on it that was supposed to be the same year, so i bought the seloc manual for that year and hp range. problem is, i thought the manual would be a bit less generic than it is, and operates under the assumption you know exactly what year model your motor is.
i need to simply know what model year i have.... its a 175 hp supposedly 01.... i was hoping i could find a serial number or something and a website to look it up but the johnson website sucks

Here's 3 source of info: Your MODEL # has digits, separated by spaces, which translate to: 1st letter is Model (J=Johnson, E=Evinrude) The numeric horsepower is after that (150 in our case) Next digit(s) are Design (2-stroke, Ficht, 4-stroke, etc). The next digit is Shaft Length, blank=15, "L"=20, Y=22.5, X=25 & Z=30 The next 2 digits (2nd and 3rd digits from the right) translate to the year: I = 1 N = 2 T = 3 R = 4 O = 5 D = 6 U = 7 C = 8 E = 9 S = 0 The last digii is not specified. Your 2001 ("01") should be "xxxxxxxSIx". Who knows why they didn't just use the year on those 2 digits,? So, I'm guessing your model # is J 150 FS X SI x?
