Hi, I just bought an older (1989) Sea Pro 180 center console, with a 90hp Evinrude. Boat appears to be very well cared for, and I only see a couple minor gelcoat stress cracks on it.
I'd like to ask two important questions from members here. First, are there any inherent problems, that I should keep an eye out for? Second, was wood used in the construction of this boat, and if so, where was it used? Should I check any specific area for possible damaged wood?
I've had a boat of one kind or another for the last thirty years, so don't be afraid of telling me straight if you know something about this model I should be aware of. Thanks, Mike.

The only issue I've had with my 2000 190cc is the electrical system specifically the rocker switches. Have repaired/replaced several of them over time. So I am now in the process of re-wiring the console using a blade fuse panel and replacing the rocker switches with a spray-proof toggle switch panel.

1989 had wood, but that shouldn't be a problem if it was taken care of. If there were holes drilled and not sealed, which might let water into the wood itself, then you could have a problem. I have a 2000 model, which has no wood, but also own 3 other boats that have wood in them - with no problems. Love our SeaPro 180 ... we bought hull new, and put our own Yamaha 200 on it - fast - rides nice - can be a little wild @ 60+mph, but we love it. My rocker switches are still original, but the boat lives in the garage (with its T-Topless folded own), and we wash it after every use. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies! I'll check out any drilled holes and electrical switches. T-Topless, that boat must be quite a handful with a 200 on it. Sounds like an adrenalin rush! Mike

I also owned a 1989 21CC. Watch for stripped out floor screws. Stand on the the anti -cavitation plate on the lower end and rock that engine and watch the transom for flex. Mine was starting to show these signs when a hurricane came along and made her a distant memory. Insurance paid out well though.

I just bought a 2005 1900 CC SeaPro. It did not come with any of the tackle boxes that fit in the built-in storage slots. Anyone know where i can find some replacement boxes that will fit well? Thanks in advance

A happy owner of a 2002 SeaPro 170CC and have the same problem, rocker switches going bad. Two as of last summer, maybe more this season that will start in July. Do you recall what replacement switches you have used for the panel and is there a wiring diagram anywhere? I tried to bypass the bad switch with a temporary one but the wires did not make sense! Cheers, HH.

Totally off the subject but I'm not sure how to get into this forum so I'm asking a question here, I'm in New Zealand and I've purchased a Sea Pro 180cc boat. I'm after a centre console windscreen but I'm unsure what year the boat is which I need so that I can order a new one....can anyone help me in relation to finding out what year it was built. Kindest regards from Mike

Not a lot of pirates here in NZ, but a few Americans who have retired here, thanks for the info I will have a look at the serial number, great boat with a 100hp Honda 4 stroke. Vit tells is not a common term here for food unless your in the Navy which uses the word as Navy slang for food also the word scran.
We play rugby over here not American football. No pads in rugby
Thanks again Regards Mike
