Is it the throttle cable or something else.

Could be several things causing a "sticky shift" Possibly and more than likely the shift cable might need cleaning and lube. Could be a crimp or sharp bend in the cable. Some shifters have a screw that allows you to adjust the friction making it harder or easier to shift... could be the adjusting screw is too tight.

Juan, I want to know what you edited out! I've never had a sticky shift but I've had a stiff one. You've got a shift cable and linkage that you must grease routinely. Throttle cable too. Or you could buy a Verado and "Go Electric". Call me Sparky!

Are there zerk fittings somewhere to lube the shifter cables? I looked on my omc controls and didn't see any..

I don't think they come "stock". I have seen them on cables but I think someone added them.
