SWEET... but be sure you wash them REAL good if you dunk em in saltwater or they won't last 6 months.

I'll have to wash em, cause I bought em. Is it just the rotors or the whole deal? I wasn't expecting more than 4 years, but I was expecting that much. I do plan on dunking in salt at least 3x a year.

Galv coating would help, BUT its the rotors themselves are high carbon steel, and rust and lock up. This overheats the bearings, which go out too. I had a set so hot, it burned the clear-coat off of the rims. We're lucky - our neighborhood boat ramp is 2 blocks away - and has a hose at the ramp. We wash the trailer off completely as soon as we drop the boat in or take the boat out (both). I believe you can get SS brakes not sure on the rotors. I don't have brakes on the 18, but am required to on the 26 ... but I don't, since we only tow less than a mile away to get fuel. If we towed the 26 on the Highway, we'd have to have the brakes. Tough situation ...

I was probably stretching it when I said they'd last 6 months in saltwater... If they're flushed with fresh water after every use they'll probably last 6 months and a day. ;D Just kidding, I washed mine off after every dunking and they lasted over a year... the only thing left on my trailer that is brake related is the actuator.... haven't missed them and didn't need them any hoo

They do make a stainless version, so that pretty much tells the tale. I'll just return them if I can do it without costing me too much, and keep looking for a deal on stainless. That was going to be a next year expenditure anyway...
