Hey guys, newbie here to Sea Pro's, but not to boating in general.
Going to check out a 2000 SV21 tomorrow, I have a couple of questions.
I read that Sea Pro went to all composite construction in 1996, so this one should be all composite, correct?
Anyone know the material used for the fuel tank? SS? Aluminum?
Anything in particular I should look for? I know how to look for fiberglass damage, blisters, etc. Were there any know issues for these boats?
Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum...
Yep, it's all composite Not sure about the fuel tanks on the 2000's.. I thought they were aluminum but just read a post where someone claims their's is plastic??? I think the biggest issues with Sea Pros is the wiring. Check the switches on the control panel to be sure they work what they're intended to work.. if they don't it's not too hard to rewire where necessary.

X2 there should be a hatch to see the fuel tank. Bring a flathead screwdriver with you!!

Sorry for the late response, but it has been a while since I have lurked here. I have a 2000 sv2100. The deck is wood and the fuel tank is plastic on mine.

No, it's all stock. I think it was some confusing literature put out by the manufacturer. It has been quite a while since I looked it up and I am going off the top of my head, but if I remember correctly they went to all composite stringers in the hull in 1996 and composite deck some time later with the new deck design. I also seem to remember different models getting composite upgrades in different years.

This is interesting. So what's the consensus? Early 2000 (2003?) and back you need to check your deck before purchase to confirm no wood?

I would definitely check the individual boat. Checked the only other 2000 that I was able to since the original conversation and it had a wood deck too. The only guess I can make is that early model year boats had wood and later model year had had composite decks? Transom is composite.

Stupid question but what is the best way to check and see if the deck is wood?

Look at the bottom of the deck via the access port. If it's wood, you will see it on the underside of the deck. It will look like the plywood that it is or the composite material that it is.

Okay thanks... I will check mine. I have an 02. I figured the wood would be covered by something.

Maybe some resin or fiberglass but every wood deck boat I have owned it was obvious when you looked at the bottom side.
