Anybody have experience with a jackplate on a V2100 Bay Boat? If so, what brands, how far back and what range of elevation? How effective do you think it would be on the boat with a T-Top? Contemplating the addition for use in the Ches Bay rivers/inlets.

No, but I want one real bad! I have every since getting my first bayboat. I have a friend that has one on a 24 ft Scout and it is awesome in skinny water. If I fished shallow more often, I would take the plunge. Try it out and give us a report. Make sure you go hydraulic, 6 or 8 inches ought to be plenty. As far as brand, these are good www.bobsmachine.com/Action-Series-Jack-Plates-upto-300HP_c4.htmCMC sells a lot of lifts too.

I want one too and have been looking for a "reasonably" priced used one for months and haven't found one.. I refuse to pay the cost of a new one.

You're right SC, I'm not holding my breath... I have found a couple of hydraulic plates that were rated for less than 150 hp and as you said, a couple of manual ones... my only hope is that someone who has one on their boat blows an engine beyond repair or wrecks their boat and parts it out. I'm happy with just trim tabs in the mean time.

I have one on my SV1900 and it is hands down the best thing I have done to the boat. It will run SOOO much shallower now than it would without it. Faster too.

I have one on my Sv1900 as well. Mine is a Bobs which mounts on the inside of the transom under deck in the bildge area. Harsh enviroment in these but seems to do ok. Hard as hell to get to to change solenoids which, more than likely, you will have to at some point. That being said the plate works great and makes a huge difference in performance and fishing the shallower areas. I had a Bobs on my old bahawk as well and it was dependable and made a ton of difference too.
