Looking at 2003 255CC with twin 2003 Evinrude 150's 350 hours. No experience with Evinrude motors, what can you tell me about them?

Well I'll go ahead and give my opinion. I researched this thoroughly before buying my carbed 150.. From personal experience, and it parallels everything I've read, The carbed engines are relatively bulletproof and rather thirsty. They are bad thirsty when gas is $4/gal, but not bad at all when it's $2/gal. They have great throttle response and holeshot/torque through the curve.. The remaining portion of my response is just what I've been told and researched and may or may not be correct. Ficht's are not nearly as reliable and although they run well when they run, they have some issues. Later, E-Tec's fixed the reliability issues of the Fichts, and get much better fuel economy than the old carbed versions and are both reliable and fuel efficient.

....and rather thirsty. They are bad thirsty.... Buddy of mine used to have one on a Stratus bass boat. That's what I remember about it too.
