My "new to me" 2003 SV2100 has a baystar helm that won't stop leaking. I ended up buying this seal kit: www.westmarine.com/buy/teleflex--baystar-helm-seal-kits--9353376I swapped out the rubber o-ring and the plastic seal that goes around a quad o-ring. I bled the lines and everything seemed like it was sealed up fine, but after a few weeks, I noticed it was leaking again from the same location as before. I've included some pictures of the helm and seals: New seals: helm without seals: new seals installed: everything fits together perfectly, but still leaks...:
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There are no replaceable seals on the back and you've replaced the one on the front, so the only place that could be leaking now is the vented fill plug. (item #1 in the picture) Have you checked to see if the valve in the fill plug is stuck open? Mine did that and it took me forever to figure out where the leak was coming from. If you have the vented plug, check the o-ring around the bottom of it and check to see if the vent is stuck open by blowing into the hole in the bottom of the plug. If it's leaking, either get a non vented plug or plug that vent hole with something.

Hey, thanks for your response! It seems to be leaking from this spot (below). When I removed the fill plug, I heard a suction of air being released. I'm not sure if it is vented and stuck, or non-vented, but I haven't noticed any fluid leaking from the top of the helm. Each time I go to check on the boat, I wipe it clean and the spot below is the only area where I notice hydraulic fluid. I didn't put any loctite or anything on the screws, but they seem to be tight enough to suffice, without being over-tightened into the plastic of the helm..
