Great work.. You should mass produce and sell those things. (I'd put a chrome handle on it)

Pretty crafty. Nice job.. I second the idea of the handle. But wrap it in tape or something so it’s not so hot it burns your hand off.

Hey guys, thanks so much for the nice comments. I didnt add a handle cause I dont want to eat up any more room between the back of the seat and the livewell. I can just walk thru there now. I made the face of the drawer a little longer vertically so I can wrap my fingers under and pull from there. The drawer slides have a retention built in, but, I'm not sure it is strong enough. I am going to add an internal drawer catch to make sure it stays closed.
I priced having this made by a few of the folks that do that, Boat Outfitters for one. Their price was around $200. As I am want to do, I knew I could do it cheaper than that. I have around $100 in materials in it and many, many hours, as it was the first and designed on the go. If anyone wants to try making one, I will be happy to offer my lessons learned and materials used.
Thanks again.

I use a knockoff sold on Amazon called Seaboard. It is the same stuff and much cheaper.

I wonder if you could use pvc board. Be even cheaper!

PVC is cheaper but if it spends any time in the sun, it won't last long.

Catchersrock You do nice work! What tools are you using(table saw, router? Do you 5200 your joints on top of screwing your projects? What is you source for S/S slides? Big respect for turning out nice stuff with starboard or knockoff, not at all like working with wood...

I clamp my 4 foot level to the material to use as a saw guide for nice strait cuts. I have not been using 5200 on any of the joints. I am not certain enough that I am finished with it to make it that permanent. I took it apart last night and added an internal drawer catch to help hold it closed.
