There was some discussion on this in another thread and I didn't want to derail it so I figured I'd start my own. Pictures as promised. This riser kit is made by Martin Marine Design out of Hardeeville, SC. I couldn't bring myself to replace the beloved cooler seat on mine for a leaning post. My 2 year old loves to "drive" so I found this solution. I will add more pictures when I mount it back in the boat.

Done. I used the old bolts thru the floor instead of the lag screws provided. Didn't want to fill old holes and drill new holes. I put 5200 around the holes and bolted it back down. All accessed thru the deck plate behind the seat. The front 2 seat base bolts are fun and will consume the majority of the time on the project.

That riser looks great! I am very interested in doing the same on my 1900CC

Looks like a good solution. It looks like it might be a little flexy on the side to side, but let us know how it works!

Looks like a good solution. It looks like it might be a little flexy on the side to side, but let us know how it works! At first look, I thought it was made of fiberglass and would be flimsy but then read it's metal.. Still looks like it might flex some since the end pieces are connected only by the foot bar but the seat it's self should make it sturdy. I like the design but there's not much material there for the cost imo.

I've wanted to raise mine 5-6 inches. I was going to use inch thick starboard 1x4s stacked under the ends as these are. How in the blue blazes of Hades did you get to those front bolts? I concluded I'd have to have arms like an orangutan with three elbows and gave up. You're a better man than I Charlie Brown!

If your close by I'd be glad to give you a hand(no pun intended). Like I said in the previous post the 2 front bolts will consume the majority of your time. I dropped the lock nuts and washer for a total of 3 times that I had to use my inspection camera to find. 2 sets of hands isn't a must but definitely a life saver. I figured I had around 4 hours total in it. That was resealing the deck plate with 5200 as well.

hey Greenheadrocker, Have you gotten the boat out and tried that riser yet? I would love to hear an update on how you are liking the riser kit? Does it flex?

I did went with a new extra padded seat that gave me about 5 more inches, and then I went with a custom leaning post with 4 rod holders, 2 cup holders, and a whale tail. The new leaning post fits the same holes in the deck and fits a yeti 65 perfect.

Well I made it out today to do a little fishing and test out the new seat riser. Zero flex in the seat with the riser on. Sea pro missed it when they designed that seat so low.

They put on in my SeaPro about 5 years ago. I just wished it was about 4" higher. Good work and a reasonable price.

greenheadrocker I only went 5". Should have gone about 8 to 10". I was worried about how stable it would be. Very satisfied with the work and they are about 10 to 15 miles from my house.
