First post here and looking for some advice. I sold my old 206cc to move up to a larger boat. I found a 2004 sea pro 238cc with a 04 yamaha 225 with 1150 hours for $19k, no trailer.
The boat itself looks good for its age and comes with tabs, GPS, ttop, etc. Im thinking the outboard didn't suffer the exhaust corrosion issues since its lasted this long; however, the hours are on the high side to me. I've been looking around for comparable prices but can't seem to find any. Does this price sound reasonable for this boat?

Whats you location? I wouldn't overlook exhaust corrosion issues and would search to see if there is a way to detect it.

IMO 1150 hours are a lot of hours and I'd keep looking for something with fewer hours or be prepared to re-power in the not too distant future but it's priced about right for my area especially if it's rigged out nicely and has been well maintained. Welcome to the forum.

I think the hours on the motor are fine if it has been well maintained, exhaust corrosion is always a concern so I'd have it scoped to check. Either way if the boat is in good shape that's still a good price considering today's market. The motor hour thing is a double edge sword IMO, too little isn't always good either. FWIW my motor has around 1500 hrs and it's an 02, the one you're looking at has done on average 82 hrs per year which I'd say is normal usage. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thank you all for the input. I'll be taking another look at her this weekend to inspect the engine for corrosion and do a compression test.
