Anyone have the Lowrance HDS chartplotter? I'm considering upgrading from a 7" Chirp Elite to a 9" screen and I want something with a faster processor since hundreds of waypoints Navionics chip, tracks and routes seem to have slowed the Elite's processor down to the point that it doesn't always refresh fast enough. The HDS claims to have the faster dual core processor. Wondering if HDS owners have any issues with refresh rate?

My dad has the top of the line HDS on his Parker and is happy with it. I couldnt bring myself to spend that kind of dough, so, I got the newest Elite 9". I love mine. I went from a Hook 9 to the Elite. The Hook had refresh rate problems, but, none on my Elite. I also love the single Totalscan transducer for the Elite. That wasnt an option on the HDS last year.

HDS is 30% faster than the non HDS. You shouldn't rule out a HB solix, it would go great with that new trolling motor!

I wouldn't mind a HB so I could link it to the trolling motor and from what I've read, their resolution is among the best. I need to check out their processor speeds and user ratings. I have the Lowrance Point 1 antenna and I'd like to keep that. I think the 9" HDS Carbon I'm looking at comes with a Point 1 and I need the extra processor speed but the user ratings are mixed which has me a bit worried.
