After todays downpour my 228 did take on a lot of water. I usually trailer it right out but got caught in the rain. Tied up to a friend's dock and went home. Had a feeling to go check the boat and sure enough the back was ankle deep. Bielge was dry except for the usual water. The floor drain was not draining. After getting boat out of the water I noticed the scupper seal was broken off. I had the petcock open and all the water went out. Does anyone know what part that is? I looked in manual and could not locate that part. Also would that be why the water was not draining. Never had a problem with water in the back before. Have taken on water from waves and I always use the wash down while underway. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Wish I could help but I don't even know what a scupper seal on the "Next Wave" line looks like. I'd call and ask the dealer or Sea Pro: SEA PRO BOATS • 25214 Hwy 121 • Whitmire, SC 29178 • (803) 694-2644

Juan, you know the scupper flaps that are on the splashwell scuppers? it's a larger one on the main drain down near the drain plug on the next wave boats.
zepol379, This is my main concern with the new manifold drain system, I keep my boat in the water all summer and I'm just not confident having the only drain in the water all the time. I can't see how the pressure from the water on the deck can overcome the outside water, I hope I'm wrong and it's some other issue.

Grnphil that is exactly my concern. Not sure that the scupper cover would have make that much of a difference. It is broken off and I will replace it . With the only drain for the floor under the water line I am not confident that all of the water would drain out. Today’s downpour kind of proved that. First time I left the boat in the water when it rained. Maybe when underway the force from moving pushes the water out. Just not real confident that when docked the drain can keep up. Anybody else ever had this problem? Thanks

The water in the cockpit should have no problem being pushed out of the flap drain. Maybe something went into the scuppers and lodged up against the flap, not allowing the water to escape faster than it was entering. Leaves, acorns etc. Not sure if the correct size, but eBay has a bunch.
