Wife wants to come along next time I head over to the space coast . This means she will want to be entertained at night , which means leaving the boat at the hotel. I have master lock hitch lock , as well as the lock that fits in as a if a hitch ball. I have run a couple beads of weld so the tongue can't be unbolted and replaced without some grinding. I also have a 20' high visible coated cable that I can run through the wheels. Boat is insured so might want to rethink this , but anyone got any ideas besides parking it next to an nicer boat. I usually feel pretty good knowing if someone messes with it when hooked to the van , it's alarm will fire off with whaling and lights flashing. windows screen capture

Doesn't matter what you have as security...if a thief wants it bad enough, they are going to find a way to steal it. I just make it harder for them to do that. Master lock on the trailer hitch, another on the spare tire, trolling motor is hard wired and bolted to the deck, I'll lock the rod box, electronics box, cooler and console and remove the gps. Insurance can replace anything they steal if I don't catch them in the act. 2gunsfiring_v1

I use those 6' cable master locks (keyed alike) and run them through the cooler handles, rod eyes, reels around the t-top, etc. I bolted my trolling motor using 3 different size bolts (one metric) Usually works, but if you leave anything around long enough, a thief will eventually bring the right tools.

When locking the trailier hitch I will stick a golf ball inside so nothing can fit in there. Also, I have heard that they will take the couple of and put another one on if they want the boat that badly

I can't hit the damned things so I might as well put one to good use. emthup

Take the coupler off. I do this when I store over the winter. Mine is set in with 3 pins so it takes two minutes to put it on and take it off. Most of them have bolts, just unscrew.
Other thing you can do, before you take coupler off, is disconnect the ground. I do this all the time so I put a pin connector on the ground wire. Set up where you want to park and leave 5 to 10 feet behind the trailer. Disconnect the power. Back the rest of the way into your spot or until the brakes engage. Unscrew the ground from the trailer and cover the lead with electrical tape.

I ran about couple stitch welds on either side of my coupler to the tongue bar to preventing a unbolt and replace of the coupler. Easy to grind off , but a thief wants to be stealthy around me , or eat some lead.
