Been drinking single barrel or small case bourbons for awhile.
After my trip to Puerto Rico before the hurricane I got interested in some rums. Started with Kraken for a year them tried BamBu (which is great of ice) and today bought a bottle of Ron Zacapa 23. I can not beleive it is better than the Bambu but will find out tonight with a cigar.
Any other suggestions on a rum to drink over a big single ice cube?

Whew! I'm glad trying something different was about liquor!! rofl I guess I'm cheap, I USUALLY buy Barcardi dark but you've got me wondering about Bambu. I'll have to try some of that if they sell it in Ala.

When in PR last year we toured the Barcardi factory with the rum tasteing. All I ever dranks was the white Barcardi mixed in something when I drank rum. They had some dark rum that peaked my interest in rum. You will not be disappointed with the Bambu over ice. And if you enjoy a cigar they go hand in hand. One in each hand.
And no I did not switch............

Just cracked a bottle of Ron Zacapa 23 to try a different rum. It is good, maybe a dollar or 3 more than the Bambu. Save your money and buy the Bambu.

Yeah, I wasn't sure where he was going with that 'Trying something new' thing either. Glad we got that straightened out.
I bet that ice cube thing would be very nice for single-malt scotches too.

985Scrabs...............what you mean where I was going with the "Trying something New". It could have been a different brand boat. I can not believe where people's mind are. Title go you thinking!
Those ice cube are great with any type of liquor on the rocks. First drink is poured to the top of the cube and the same with the second one but it has melted in half. If you need another drink, repeat the process.

LOL.. I'll just have to use the smaller cubes the ice maker makes... There hasn't been an ice tray in this house since they invented ice makers and I dumped and refilled my share of ice trays as a kid... I don't want to do that again. btw: nothing wrong with that stuff warm and straight out of the bottle beerchug

There is a place that is making a very well rated rum near me. Richland Rum. I've never had it, because they seem to be pretty proud of it.

That's moonshine! rofl I don't know if he's still there but a few years ago there was a guy who has/had a still on the river and made some really good shine. Might be why my eyesight ain't what it used to be. I've tasted something like the Bumbu before... I just can't think of what it was
