My Thanksgiving was going great until my wife started cleaning out the bird and found the two eggs I'd slipped into the turkey cavity. Everybody else thought it was funny. Next year maybe a cornish game hen, that ought to get the old girl into a high hover.

Now that's funny. I'd love to do that to my wife, but I always clean and cook the bird, but I admire your creativity.
My Thanksgiving started with the biggest doe I've ever seen committing suicide in my yard. I'm not a deer hunter so I found this somewhat troubling.

That is funny.. reminded me of one of my fishing buddies. He's a city boy but decided he wanted to raise some chickens so I gave him feeders and all the stuff he needed and he bought a chicken coup and 8 chicks.. A couple months later after they reached full size, his neighbor snuck into his yard and put a dozen eggs in the coup and he found them when he fed the chickens.. He called everyone he knew and bragged about his chickens laying eggs. His neighbor let him think his chickens were laying eggs for almost a week before telling him the truth.
Crabs: what happened to the doe? Lead poisoning? This cooler weather has them moving around.. I jumped four does near my boat shed this morning.. I think they scared me more than I scared them.

I was playing with my dog when this giant doe came running up from the back of the property. It saw us and freaked. She ran east and hit a wire fence. She turned around and ran towards a gap in the bushes where she attempted to get over/through the fence again, but managed to break her neck in the process. It was disturbing to watch. Luckily, she passed quickly and I was not forced to 'finish the job'.
A guy I work with is a big deer killer. I called him and he came and picked her up so at least the meat won't be wasted.
