Thanks trout. The knee is healing well and good enough to go offshore. I went yesterday (the 12th) thinking the crowd of red snapper hunters might be fewer than on opening day. Man was I wrong. I hit a dozen spots and all but two had boats on them, some had several. The two spots that had no boats, didn't have any fish either. Fished until it got too windy and rough to fish comfortably and headed toward the bay without a single snapper in the boat. I guess I'll have to wait for a calmer day and hit some of the far out spots next trip. I managed an 18" redfish and a couple of trout over 21" before quitting for the day and that was all I had to show for $50 worth of bait and 20 gallons of fuel burned but like they say...that's why they call it fishing and not catching.

I call my boat '$50 Per Pound' because that's what the fish I catch are worth.

Some buds of mine were able to go out of destin on the Fla opener and smashed em around 12 1/2 miles out. Doc told me 2 spots were covered up with both big triggers closed of course and bunches of big red snapper. I was invited to go then and again this father's day weekend but slammed busy, could not get away. Word is also that the the boys played with mahi of different sizes because of all the Sargasso weed in close. Better eating than a 20 lb red snapper, just saying Attachments:
