I wish I hadn't watched that. Now I want a new one. Just kidding. I've owned one boat or another since I was 12 and I'm now 68. I've had my SV 2100 for close to 14 years now and still think it's the best all round boat I've ever owned. If the new models are half as good as the classics, they're worth every penny. Based on he video, I like the new improved pressurized livewell with the see through lid and blue LEDs where the classics have red LEDs. I also like the additional storage spaces, the tilt steering wheel and the attention to detail throughout the boat. I don't like the additional weight requiring a more horsepower, or the "old man" step at the bow since it took away space on the casting platform and I HATE those gull wing lids. I just can't see the hinges lasting very long in rough seas but with a 5 year warranty, I guess it's not an issue until the warranty expires. And that salesman is wrong about the classic Sea Pros having wood in the hulls.. Not true unless it's a really old model.

Thanks for your honest opinion Juan, I knew that you would post on this topic for sure....from one old man to another, how have you been ? I still come on here all the time, just haven't had a need to sign in, but I'm always in the background....last thing I did to my 180CC was add two battery system with the switch...I am still mulling around the idea of a repower...I do like the Suzuki, in 140, it would max my boat out as far as power...HOOAH!

I sold my 2008 1900 to order a new 228. It is due in to the dealership on Friday where they will hang the new Mercury 250. It is supposed to be in my hands on Tuesday. Ive been impatiently waiting for 6 weeks and its about to kill me! I will post a very detailed review here very soon there after. This will be my 5th boat and my second Sea Pro. I researched heavily and crawled all over all the available makes and models and still landed on the new Sea Pro.

Good to see ya still here gtightline. I'm doing fine (for an old fart) and hope you are too. Thanks for asking. Haven't done anything to the Sea Pro lately and still love the Suzuki. I recently bought a Carolina skiff to replace the bass boat I sold a while back and I've been doing a LOT of work on that. If you want to appreciate how well a Sea Pro is built...buy a Carolina skiff. I've been fiberglassing and filling gaps between the cap and hull, painting, rewiring and changing out fuel lines for days but I've finally got it where I'm not embarrassed to fish in it. Looking forward to putting it to good use when the stripers and hybrids start biting again but I broke it in this morning at the river with a couple catfish and bass.

Glad to hear they cleaned up the raw glass. What is the base price for the new model shown? Wonder if they upgraded the wiring for everything to marine grade tinned wires? If I was ordering from factory I would insist on tinned. Would like to see the backside of the switch plate. Got my boat used but the wiring on my "02" is sub pare for a quality build.

I can't speak of the new boats other than what I've seen at the boat show's and what I've heard about the awesome customer support from the factory, which is all very positive. As far as my boat goes I'm extremely happy with it, very solid and the hardware on mine is all (or at least mostly) Gemlux which is high quality stuff from Jacksonville FL. As Juan said, the comment about the wood is incorrect. I'd by a new one in a heartbeat and I also wouldn't think twice about another older model, plus the wife said I can't have anything other than another Sea Pro and she recons it rides better or as good as my buddy's boston whaler LOL. I've James to comment on here as he has a new 248 so that should help Joshua with his decision.

I believe 248's start as low as $60-65k preconfigured and can go just north of $100k loaded. I've got about 50 hours on my 248 and will answer any questions for you guys that I can I owned a 208 before that. photos.app.goo.gl/nSV71oihKzn2FSHy6

With the upgrades to finish Seapro has definitely put their boats in the next league of boats/builders.

That's for sure...man I wish I had the fundage for a new Sea Pro, but as it's looking these days I'll probably just repower when the time comes..I'd love to have one of the new Suzuki's ...right now it's still powered by the same Yamaha 115 that came with it when I purchased the boat new in 98...

Wife and I were having a discussion about it last weekend, we decided ( or should I say I was told) if we needed to repower in the next couple of years we'll do that. If the motor last until the young'un is out of collage we'll consider a new one.

I will probably never sell my Sea Pro, for me it's the perfect size, it lives in my garage, has never been stored outdoors..so yes, for me when it comes time, I will also repower, although new sounds good, it would be impractical, and so expensive..
How did you do with the storm Phil?

I wouldn't have repowered either if that Yamaha hadn't blown up and I'll probably be buried in my Sea Pro.

How did you do with the storm Phil? Absolutely nothing at all, the wife said we had a tree down (very small one) but it had been down a while. Even down at the coast where the inlaws live and where our dock is wasn't anything to write home about. Looks like the Carolina's got it pretty good.
