I found this thread on another forum and thought some members here may find it helpful. The author is a professional detailer and gives a step by step tutorial on restoring a weathered gelcoat. He also reveals what products he used (pads, compounds, etc.) to achieve his results. The before and after photos are pretty dramatic. www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-maintenance/52772-tips-compound-polish-wax.htmlI'll be trying it next spring to improve the finish on my 20 year old Sea Pro.

I use this stuff (oxalic acid) to get those stubborn stains off the hull. Put it on, let it sit for a minute and wipe it off. All those coffee looking stains are gone. You can rub for hours and not them off. Bought a 50 pound bag about 3 or 4 years ago, gave away 20% and still have 1/2 the bag left. Other world, about 1/2 a solo cup in a 5 gallon bucket will clean 2 boats.
