I ordered a set of flare gun shells. Plan to blow off the expiring one on New Years. Will be replacing all batteries in portables also. (VHF, flashlight, strobes on lifejackets)

Good idea. I've got a bag of expired flares I need to shoot off too. The only thing the boat's getting for Christmas this year is another pair of fishing gloves and some rod epoxy.

My boat got non-slip flooring this fall so that was Christmas for her. I'm thinking about changing her lower unit oil and douching her bilge though.
Expired boat flares are great for starting burn piles if you live in the country where you can have burn piles.
