Here is a nice looking 2100 but the 2004 Evinrude engine power head was replaced in 2008. Is that an automatic red flag besides being a Evinrude possible servicing issues in the future. Seller's description 2005 Sea Pro 21ft bay boat for sale. 2005 Evinrude 2-stroke E225FPXSOE. Evinrude replaced the power head with new in 2008 under warranty. Trim tabs, jack plate, cover, rebuilt trailer in 2018 with new torsion axles, mag wheels, tires, bearings, bunks, Ubolts and fasteners. New motor controls 2014, new tachometer 2018, new cushions in 2019, new fuel sending unit/gauge 2020. Boat was serviced each Spring at Seel's and this year in March. Garage kept until 2016. Spent a couple years in boat storage and then the last two on our boat lift. I don't know hours on the engine. Needs new chart plotter, stereo, and fiberglass repair near the bow.

Owner said this was reason for the hull damage.
Also lists for $17K
"Dock board that a cleat was attached to came loose. Boat rubbed on dock edge. My price is negotiable."

If they have receipts on the powerhead replacements and it all checks out this can be a very good thing. Makes it pretty much a 2008 engine. New power head means min. new pistons, rings and bores for a two stroke. Much more if a four stroke. Every bolt almost has been opened up and retorqued . Old engines that have never been opened is a red flag if salt water use was involved. I sold my pathfinder when it was running sweet because my mechanic warned me that the engine had never been opened from new. If it ever needed to be there would lots of frozen bolts a.k.a lots of hours of machine work on top of anything that required fixing. That little bit of gel coat can easily be fixed or for cheap put a wrap on the boat. They have gotten a lot better quality materials these days. I would stop by Seel's with a couple pizza's at lunch time and talk to the service tech's. If they serviced every year they will know the boat and the owner. If everything checks out go in low with Ben Franklins to deliver post sea trial, nicely outfitted boat. As to the trailer make sure all the new hardware is S/S and check the alloy under them . If they replaced galvenized hardware, and they did cause you wouldn't need to replace if the trailer had been built with S/S, the I beams may compromised by galvanic corrosion. google it

2100s have been hard to find and in high demand for quite a while. My advice is to look at every detail or if you're not familiar with boats, have someone else do it. A new 2008 2 stroke powerhead is still a 12 year old 2 stroke... Based on the pictures, the rig looks good to me and considering the boat market these days, isn't priced too far off imo. Being picky, the trim tabs are mounted too close to the centerline but will still work... I'd sea trial it then offer $15

Thank you for the tips! This is located pretty far off (730 miles) so several things to consider since I would be having to make a trip from Louisiana and back if things were to get to that point... Mosquito13 - Great tips! As I said its long distance for me, so getting into Seels with pizza may not be feasible. But it is a great idea to get some background on the motor. Might try to make a call and see if someone really nice will share what info that have. Juan - I know we have both seen the Sea Pro boats selling like crazy and I am thinking that things will level off in the Fall. But it sure would be great to have something this summer to do with my bored kids who've been out of school for 4 months. 15K would be my max so I am not opposed to getting into a fixer upper and doing some easy cosmetic and wiring DIY work. I am planning a family trip in a few weeks but I think it would not be wise to drag family into a boat negotiation. May throw out a low ball offer and see if he bites and then figure it out from there. Thanks again! A few more pics he added.

Maybe just the picture but that front wheel looks turned inward.

If you do the haul . AAA rv insurance and Towboat usa gold insurance( unlimited tow for boat/trailer and vehicle if something goes wrong. Always the option of flying in and renting a T.V.. I have had vintage campers and cars shipped cross the states at about what it would cost me towing it with my gas hog and hotels. I am in Sarasota Fla and have same boat but rigged differently(set up for serious fishing) .Priced similar. Out of town til the 14th but if you search my posting I have been documenting upgrades here since I purchased the boat with lots of pictures.

I am in Sarasota Fla and have same boat but rigged differently Not quite to be fair, this is a newer and imo overpriced 05 so it's got a wider beam and slightly different interior layout.

Overpriced @ 15K or less? It would still need a trolling motor, glass repair, bimini or T-top and boat cover which he says he may have (I live around a lot of trees.) All these could be added gradually. Just need to make sure that engine checks out.
Thanks for the insurance tips mosquito13. Good info.
I like that he has kept the boat in storage or on a lift out of the water and sounds like he maintained it well.
It may not happen at all. I'm sort of hoping the glass damage scares others off and he comes way down on his asking $.

Overpriced @ 15K or less? Depends on how bad you want it. IMO any boat is worth what you're willing to pay for it if that's the boat you want. I like to use NADA's average retail price as a base line when I buy a boat. I don't think I'm getting a bargain unless the sale price is near or below the average retail price. The average retail price for that boat (in my area) is $12,665. then you have to consider the glass damage, and 12 year old 2 stroke...but like I said, it's worth what you're willing to pay.
